Loading redcode programs in browsers or applet-viewers
back to the M.A.R.S-page
- With the running applet you can load example programs from the server. Just choose "P1:
URL-path" and "P2: URL-path". Then you have to choose the
programs with e.g. "P1: knirps.txt" and "P2: gnom.txt".
Finally you have to choose "Load". The programs will be loaded
and after successfull loading you can "Run" the game.
- There is alternatively the possibility to paste or to type your own
program and to run it against one of the programs at the URL-path. In order
to do this, you first choose the programm P1 as described. Then you choose
"P2: user-pgm". In this case you can either type a program in
the text area in the middle of the upper panel. Alternatively, you load
a program in your preferred text editor. Than you "Copy" the
program with the option in the Edit-Menu of you text editor program. Then
you have to activate the window of you browser, where you can "Paste"
the program in the text area of the upper panel. Then you have to choose
"Load" at the applet. After successfully loading you will be
able to run you program against the example program.
- In case you have started the applet from an applet viewer and you have
chosen "unrestricted access" you can in addition load programs
from your own harddisk or floppy. You have to choose "P1: local path"
and perhaps "P2: local path". Then you enter your file path in
the text area of the upper panel and you enter the name of the program
in the right text area of the panel. After choosing "Load" and
successfully loading you can "Run" the games.
